Temple Scenes, Chiang Mai

A temple (wat) near the Chiang Mai University campus.  The gold pagoda is called a chedi in Thai.  According to a monk at the temple, the chedi holds relics of the Buddha sent to Thailand from India and Sri Lanka.  The white stupas are said to hold the relics of laymen.  Theravada Buddhism is the form of Buddhism practiced in Thailand.
